Синти-рокеры из Лас-Вегаса The Killers обижены тем, как воспринимают американцев по всему миру и обвиняют своих коллег в том, что они только подливают масла в огонь, провоцируя слушателей на негативную реакцию по отношению к гражданам США. По словам музыкантов, работая над ним, они вдохновлялись творчеством уже упомянутого Брюса Спрингстина. У которого, видимо, и набрались патриотических идей.
plac: The Killers Напишут "Тему Бонда" Давно прошли те времена, когда музыка к фильмам про Бонда ассоциировалась с роскошной эстрадой и сытым инструментальным саспенсом. Да и исполнительниц главной темы уже сменили исполнители. Сквозная тема последнего фильма "You Know My Name" написана и исполняется Крисом Корнеллом (Chris Cornell), фронтменом Audioslave и бывшим вокалистом Soundgarden - еще 10 фильмов назад это было бы немыслимо. Но начало положено и теперь на вакансию создателей "темы Бонда" претендуют новые лица. Недавно появилась информация, что следующая главная песня фильма может быть написана рокерами из Лас-Вегаса The Killers. "The Killers сейчас достигли идеального положения в своей карьере для того, чтобы написать тему для Бонда, - поделился своими соображениями очередной "информированный источник" газеты The Sun. - У них правильный звук, правильный имидж и обширное коммьюнити поклонников, что делает их подходящим выбором для этой цели".

plac: The Killers - БИОГРАФИЯ Не многие могут сказать о себе, что провели детство в Лас-Вегасе, да еще и создали там группу. “Журналисты часто спрашивают, в какой гостинице мы выросли, - признается уроженец города, лидер The Killers, Брендон Флауэрс (Brandon Flowers). – Но Лас-Вегас, довольно милое и вполне пригодное для жизни место, правда, жить в нем лучше подальше от центра”. До того как Брендон Флауэрс, гитарист Дэйв Кенинг (Dave Keuning), басист Марк Штремер (Mark Stoermer) и ударник Ронни Ванннуччи (Ronnie Vannucci), прославились на весь мир со своей песней “Somebody Told Me”, Лас-Вегас не имел собственных знаменитостей, последней музыкальной гордостью царства рулеток были волосатые металлисты начала 90-х группа Slaughter. The Killers появились в 2002 году, после того как разбежались товарищи Брендона по группе Blush Response. “Я поместил в газете объявление и единственным вменяемым оказался гитарист Дэйв Кенинг. В то время он работал продавцом бананов”. Брендон сразу объявил Дэйву, что они должны играть что-то с “гитарно-синтезаторным саундом”. Американская группа стала невероятно популярна в Англии, а затем в остальной Европе. The Killers очень понравились британской публике. Гастрольное турне заметно повлияло и на них, сделав звучание группы более английским. “Мы не пытаемся быть англичанами, - признается Флауэрс, - но все дело в том, что лучшие песни создавались именно в Англии, начиная от The Beatles и The Rolling Stones, заканчивая Oasis и Pulp. А сколько клёвых группы было кроме них! Английский рок – великая музыка, у каждой песни свой собственный характер”. После покорения Британии начал расти интерес к группе и у американской публики, “нас действительно начинают слушать в штатах, - говорит Флауэрс. - Невероятно, но песня “Somebody Told Me” попала в десятку нескольких хит-парадов. Это действительно наше достижение”. Единственно, о чем сожалеет Брендон, - недопонимание со стороны некоторых критиков: “Жаль, что многие пытаются ковыряться в наших текстах, ищут в них то, чего и в помине нет. plac: Американские рокеры The Killers внесли свой в клад в создание саундтрека к готовящемуся к выходу фильму о жизни фронтмена Joy Division Йена Кертиса (Ian Curtis) «Control». Музыканты записали свою «авторскую» версию песни «Shadowplay», написанную легендарными британцами в 1979 году. Напомним, что лента «Control» основана на книге «Touching From A Distance», написанной вдовой Кертиса, а также и со-продюсером картины Деборой Кертис. Режиссером фильма выступает известный клипмейкер Антон Корбийн. Как уже сообщалось ранее, группа New Order, которую бывшие участники Joy Division основали после смерти вокалиста, уже записали основную часть саундтрека к фильму. Возможно, для музыкального сопровождения к фильму они также перезапишут и некоторые старые треки Joy Division. Выход картины «Control» на экраны запланирован на сентябрь текущего года.

Церемония вручения престижнейших наград британской шоу-индустрии состоялась в минувшую среду, 14 февраля, в лондонском Earl's Court. И без того собравшие уже все возможные премии и призы Arctic Monkeys были названы «Лучшей британской группой» и стали обладателями награды за «Лучший британский альбом года» («Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not»). Лас-вегасские рокеры The Killers удостоились тех же званий - но в «международной» категории. Лучшим британским сольным исполнителем признан молодой музыкант Джеймс Моррисон (James Morrison), выпустивший свой дебютный альбом в прошлом году. "В Англии и Европе у нас выходило много синглов, чего нельзя сказать о США", - говорит фронтмен The Killers Брэндон Флауэрс. - "Поэтому многие наши американские были лишены возможности изнакомиться с кучей песен, выпущенных в качестве би-сайдов. У нас набралось порядка 15-ти таких композиций, которые мы теперь собрать и выпустить отдельным релизом". Трек-лист пластинки пока не сформирован. Ожидается, что на нее войдут такие би-сайды, как «All The Pretty Faces», «Move Away», «Ruby, Don't Take Your Love To Town», а также кавер-версия песни Joy Division «Shadowplay», вошедшая в саундтрек к фильму Антона Корбийна «Control». По словам Брэндона, новый альбом, скорее всего, включит в себя и несколько ремиксов на самые громкие хиты The Killers («только самые удачные ремиксы» - уточняет музыкант) плюс парочку совершенно новых и записанных специально ради этого проекта треков. Дата релиза еще не определена, хотя музыканты обещают, что сделают все от них зависящее, чтобы выпустить пластинку еще до конца этого года. А вот чем точно порадуют музыканты своих фэнов еще до Нового года, так это рождественским синглом «Don't Shoot Me Santa». "Наш прошлогодний праздничный сингл «A Great Big Sled» собрал около 100 тысяч долларов, и мы надеемся, что новая песня повторит это достижение", - заявляет Флауэрс. Напомним, что последний на сегодня альбом The Killers «Sam's Town» увидел свет в конце 2006-м года. Он получил «платиновый» статус в США и дважды «платиновый» - в Великобритании, разойдясь по всему миру общим тиражом более 2,5 млн экземпляров.
